Inspired by the colours of stained glass, artist Anne Patterson has created a striking installation within Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. “Graced With Light” features 1,000 satin ribbons artfully hanging from the church arches (and totalling over 20 miles or 32 kilometres in length). Anne’s piece also includes audio and video projection elements (read more here) in collaboration with other artists. Whether viewed from lying down on a pew or walking through the main doors and experiencing the full congregation of hue, this installation is a simply beautiful modern interpretation of stained glass and heavenly colour. If you are near or headed to San Francisco, “Graced with Light” is on until the end of February.
