I love when creative solutions can be found to turn urban eyesores into attractive and intriguing pieces of design. The Kansa City Public Library did just that when they constructed a 25 foot tall “bookshelf” to cover up the ugly attached parking garage. Using titles suggested by Kansas City readers, the project showcased 22 book spines to create what the city calls “The Community Bookshelf”. It is not only a wonderfully creative solution to an architectural eyesore but it really creates a striking attraction for locals and tourists alike.
